Having done their “soldierly duty” the crew could have chosen to surrender. Out in the open sea there’s no other choice.
Rev. Ed... Among other ironies (3:15), HMS Foxhound had a sailor killed by rifle/MG fire from Narvik before recovering 11 Giese survivors, presumably close inshore. The sinking ship (1:45) floated for 10 more hrs, firing the last of her few shells even after “abandon ship” (Dickens, below). Compare the victimhood with the facts in eg. Haarr: German invasion of Norway.

Nur weil jemand anderes auch Unrecht begangen hat, hebt das nicht das eine auf.
Relativierer sind eine gefährliche Brut.
Und es ist ein Unterschied, ein Land zu besetzen oder massiv udn systematisch Völkermord zu betreiben.
Jeder, der diesen Unterschied nicht versteht, braucht entweder Geistesbildung oder ist Absolvent einer Sonderschule.

My father was on the Zerstorer Z-29, he survived the war and so did the Z-29. He stayed in Narvik for a brief period of time. He lives to this day.

Naja, es heißt ja auch nicht ohne Grund:

Nürnberg war halt ein Gericht der Sieger über die Besiegten, trotzdem ist es verboten zu sagen, dass dies ungerecht war, weil man sonst ein Volksverhetzer ist...
Wir leben halt in einer super Demokratie mit einer super Meinungsfreiheit... xD
