  • Original visual rendition. Large cities like LA,Tokyo or NYC lend themselves to emotional and very personal interpretations that have nothing to do with the pre-conceived idea of these complex places. I have been in NYC during rainy and foggy nights and the lights of buildings create surreal images that could be described by this piece.

  • If the piece was dedicated to political prisoners of Russia, why didn't he name it Political Prisoners of Russia? In addition, this was played at the start of the LA Marathon instead of I Love LA the runners would become depressed and go home.

  • @palos127 It does not represent LA for you

  • @tyrionoutrider

The video is just representing the Freedom of Los Angeles. But is it a pink cloud? Arvo Pärt dedicated this music to all political prisoners of Russia.

  • @palos127 You are missing the point. Just listen to the music, ignore the video.

  • What a dreary piece of music. It certainly does not represent Los Angeles. I'll take Randy Newman's I Love LA any day.

  • Part dedicated this to Mikhail Khodorkovsky.

  • @Kefienzel Fool...composers don't write music to compete against the composers of the past or the present. They write from their souls and their feelings.

  • Muchas gracias por subir este fragmento de la sinfonía de A. Pärt; conozco parte de su obra pero hasta ahora no sabía de la existencia de esta sinfonía.

Thank you very much for uploading this piece of the symphony of A. Pärt, I know of his work but so far not aware of the existence of this symphony.
