That is a misconception... he was not "almost killed." He went to the hospital for mostly scratches and was released later that evening and went to a social gathering/party.

As for"going around threatening and intimidating people",the WHITE students did a darn good job!NOOSES hanging from tree,Black kid at ALL WHITE party BEATEN UP,Three black kids get GUN pulled on them by WHITE guy,fearing for their lives they wrestle it from him,WHO gets charged?the white guy?NO!only the black student!for sure DA Reed Walters was in on that too,he's too involved,(conflict of interests)he should be stood down while HIS conduct and "one stroke of a pen" remarks are investigated.

How can you only call the white kids the instigators? That'c crazy. Thre is this fanciful notion going around that some innocent black kids were constantly getting harrassed and terrorizedby these mean racist white kids, and a town full of nothing but lying racists. The lying racist part is convenient when almost everyone except the defendants paint the balck kids as the ones intigating much of the problems and going around threatening and intimidating people.

I reckon it was more like a good boxing around the ears,and he got what he deserved! Pity his fellow racists were'nt given the same. BTW, the school is largely responsible for letting the matter brew for so long, the attitude of the school can be summed up by the "one stroke of a pen" racist threat made by District Attorney Reed Walters.
