It doesn't have to be said to be interpreted, how can 'I don't like you' not be and insult? And this song has the same message as in the musical because it starts with a guy sitting on a couch flicking through TV channels, so the original message of not wanting to be what Green Day may consider a typical American (in short, someone who does not think for themselves) is the message of it in the musical. Again, get your facts straight!

the beginning just has the main characters flipping through tv channels, so i'm not exactly sure what's said, but the loudest one is definitely from southpark.
