  • The thing with this movie is that audiences and critics around the world agree it is so good it transcends comic book movies, as well as the rivalry between marvel and dc. Oh and Downey's comments about the Dark Knight were just low class.

  • There was NOTHING better than this movie this year. Maybe even this decade. Or ever.

There is no reason except for the fact that the Oscars suck that The Dark Knight shouldn't get Best Picture.

  • 25 years from now, this film will be put in the congressional film vault for historic importance.

  • 3 years later.....none of the 5 Best Picture nominees are mentioned, remembered, referred to....they're practically forgotten.

The Dark Knight ? Still remembered to this day. Not just because it was a Batman film. Because it was also an AMAZING film. Period.

  • @TexasFilmCritic Slumdog Millionaire was a terrific piece of filmmaking too; really, that was the only movie in the 5 nominated films that year that I thought deserved to be there. The Dark Knight should have as well, especially ahead of movies like The Reader...or even the good (but overhyped) Frost/Nixon.

  • This should have won best fight not Twilight .

  • This is the true Best Picture of 2008, not "Slumdog Millionare". It's a good movie, but "The Dark Knight" is the best.

  • I honestly think this may be one of the greatest movies of all time...It plays upon our fundamental fears about morality to an almost primal, unprecedented extent...It takes cliche and knocks it on its ass and turns it upside down until it's unrecognizable...Ledger's performance is indescribable and should be recognized with the academy award, although all performances are Oscar worthy, they're that good... I am still haunted by this film...

  • I agree, Hollywood and critics consider films like Slumdog Millionare underdog films. The Dark Knight is the True underdog because its films like this that dont get any recognition for Best Picture Oscar. The best movie I've seen in recent years and there won't be another one like it.

  • dunno if it's the quality of my speakers but that punch in the interrogation room sounded so hard my head feels like it's been knocked off everytime I rewind it to that place

  • this movie DESERVES the Best Picture Award!

It has no rivals. Too damn brilliant, Nolan's work is a masterpiece, the Academy must consider it.

And I retain it should win Best Director, Best score, Best cinematography and Photography. I wouldn't give awards to actors, not because I don't like Ledger's performance, but I think all the main characters have been GREAT!

  • This movie blew me away. I'm a long time Batman fan and this delivered on every level possible - exceeding every one of my expectations.
