Visit ElvisTVchannel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ElvisTVchannel?feature=mhee Ral Donner was the first Elvis Presley Soundalike. He started his career in the Fifties shortly after Elvis Presley became famous. Ral Donner was one of the few Elvis Presley Soundalikes who managed to become highly successful in his own right. Ral Donner met Elvis Presley twice and Elvis really liked Ral Donner's Voice and Music. Ral Donner released many successful Albums during his career, but has only made one Elvis Presley Tribute Album. Due to the success of this Tribute Album "I've been away for awhile" Ral Donner was choosen to be the Narating Voice of Elvis in the movie "This is Elvis" in 1981, which turned out to be his last project, because shortly after the movie was released Ral Donner died. Video Material of Ral Donner is scarce and very hard to find. This clip was part of the Movie-Short "Cinderella Twist", which was released during the early Sixties.

  • Great..I think he was the voice of Elvis in one of the movie documentary movies, forget which one though.

Excellent clip, thanks for posting. :)

    5*

  • He was the voice of Elvis in "This is Elvis". Before that he released an Album called "I've been away for awhile now", on which he tells Elvis life story and sings a lot of Elvis Songs! Accompanied by The Jordanaires, Scotty Moore and DJ Fontana. Now and then this Double LP is offered for sale at the American Ebay.

  • no no nope, c'mon man. Ral Donner is one of the greatest late 50's-early 60's rock singers ever, just a notch short of a HOF'er like DION. for reals. guy has a great sounding voice, great phrasing, tons of great material. his recorded work 1959-1964 is so far beyond the number of good tracks Elvis cut it's ridic (and Elvis greatest Hits Vol. 3 w/the two-sided monster His Latest Flame/Little Sister has always been one of my favorite albums of all time)

  • @ONENIGGER2ANOTHER YES HE DID, ELVIS WAS HIS IDOL !

  • RAL DONNER WAS GREAT, BUT, HIS DOWNFALL WAS TRYING TO BE TOO MUCK LIKE ELVIS IN EVERY ASPECT OF THE KING ! OH WELL, HE HAD SOME COOL SONGS & THEY NEVER PLAY THEM ? OR GIVE HIM VERY MUCH CREDIT? THAT'S A SHAME !

  • Elvis soundalike??!!!

More to the point - Devil in disguise is Elvis being a Ral Donner soundalike.

  • Donner never went for the imitation thing. He just happened to have a similiar voice and style. Way better than clowns like Proby.

  • I really like his "I Got Burned"

  • oops! sorry about the typo...

I meant to type 'documentary movie' ;)

  • Just love this song! Ral Donner just was one of those great singers you never hear much about!
