elementary OS Jupiter Review - Linux Distro Reviews

A review of elementary OS Jupiter 0.2 Final Release. elementary OS Jupiter, and the elementary experience in general receives a lot of attention form sites like OMG! Ubuntu etc, and for good reason. The elementary team have created a lightweight and extremely elegent GNOME desktop that will serve as a basis for future innovation. At this point, the main drawcard is the elementary apps, but otherwise, this release is only a tweaked and stripped back Ubuntu 10.10.

Apps like the anticipated Slingshot app Launcher, Plank docky thing, and the desktop shell Pantheon, will not be making a splash at least until the next release.

how do u connect to a wireless router in jupiter?

@11plays22 If your wireless networks aren't available in the network manager (top right-hand panel applet) in Jupiter than you probably need to install wifi drivers. Have a look under 'System>Administration>Hardwar­e Drivers' and if there is no 'Hardware Drivers' option than open synaptic package manager and search/install 'jockey gtk' and that will be the 'Hardware Drivers' tool to automatically install wifi drivers.

@MriBackup Yup, if you go to the elementary OS website, they have a 'Customization Guide' which tells you how to unlock =everything=. Nice.

Looks good, its kinda like ubuntu trying to be OS X, but that is not a bad thing. And midori is great, I hope this guys help develop it, fastest browser I've used on linux.

Stop arguing over who invented the first GUI, it doesn't matter. These simple Linux distributions bring users to the table who feel that they are instantly cool and know everything a few weeks after installation.

Stop arguing on a YouTube video and go join a Linux forum and LEARN about the operating system.
