Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority: Annual Industry Forum 2011

Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority held its second Annual Industry Forum on February 7th, 2011, at the InterContinental Hotel, Abu Dhabi.

In the Forum's key note address, His Excellency Mubarak Al Muhairi, ADTA's Director General, revealed that the Authority's hotel guest target for 2011 had been raised to 2million.

Earlier, Lawrence Franklin, ADTA's Strategy & Policy Director, dissected the emirate's tourism industry successes of 2010 - a year when Abu Dhabi comfortably beat its hotel guests target by recording 1.81million hotel guests.

Ian Walker, an Olympic medallist and skipper of Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing, gave the Forum's final presentation. Walker's address rallied the emirate's tourism industry stakeholders to unite in a city-wide activation programme when Abu Dhabi hosts the Volvo Ocean Race 2011/12 at the end of this year / January 2012.
