@laurensbible Indeed it is!

@hedgerow215 Hi! It doesn't matter, really, who played the banjo in this version of a great song, it just sounds awful. The guy must have been drunk, very drunk. It is out of time and rhythm most of the time. This song would sound much better without it. Am I qualified to make such a claim? Perhaps. I used to play banjo in a folk band, way back...

McGuinn played the banjo on the studio version. the banjo player on the Europe tour 1968 was Doug Dillard; McGuinn was busy contributing the wonderful Rickenbacker solo in "Hickory Wind" ;)

What a talent! My. Favorite song of Gram's!

Sweet memories of Gram growing up together in Winter Haven -- well, almost growing up -- some of us are still working at it and you, Gram, gave up on it.

I think it's McGuinn on the banjo. He plays it you know.
And he has that strange Banjo-Tar the Rickenbacker made for him.

sing it brother, absolute magic

Man, sounds like their first ever practice session and with a drunk guy on the sound board. Real good otherwise!
Thanks so much for posting this historic recording. Don't you wish there was video from that show tho go along with it. We had Gram far too short a time. May his legacy outlive us all. Peace.
