The remains of our old farm at Narbethong after Black Saturday, Feb 7, 2009. The grass is green after the rain but everything was burnt and more than 200 Victorians are dead all because this government neglects our forests. We despise green activism. We need good management which means fuel reduction, grazing and forest thinning. We were burnt out at Angers Rest in 2003 as well so we feel qualified to comment. More than this we've been predicting such a disaster for years. In the video the darker areas on the surrounding hills are where the fire was hottest and the destruction greatest.

I agree, we DO need better management. But in the mean time, it's hard to believe these beautiful creations of nature have..
gone. Respect to all victims :(

You can really see the pre-fire and after-fire contrast here. Totally amazing how a little rain greens everything up. Feel so sorry for everyone affected. Great music with this vid. Have changed my mind about prescribed burning now and believe its needed.

This video and the music in the background combine to become the most emotive and evocative record of the horror of Black Saturday I have seen.
A day that will remain in our memories forever.
