true, true.. i just dont understand why you call global problems american problems.. look up, down. on the other side of the sea there's land also.

@BlackFox0911 the welfare system was invented at the same time the federal reserve was put in place creating a dependent society toward large corporations and that society has grown more and more dependent on the upper society...think about it those who are not dependent on welfare such as myself we pay half our income in taxes as soon as we have any money to pay off a mortgage for example...thus we are kept at the bottom...we would have to earn half a million a year to pay off our house!
-
@BlackFox0911 in the part of Canada I live in it would take me 2 months of living exspenses to be finished with that $8000 it would not improve my lot in life!
-
so if they have come up with this statistic the question thus remains who is that top 1% I want names...who are they!
-
@AdamsSeed - Einstein. Newton. Steve Jobs. Bill Gates. They were all their own bosses. Here's even a personal example. I myself chopped up half an acre of firewood and sold $8000 to tailgaters at a sporting event. My only expense was a $20 axe. There's always a way to improve your lot in life without depending on other people who may not even be there when you need them
-
@AdamsSeed - Granted. It's true that not EVERYONE on the welfare system abuses the system, but more than a justifiable fraction DO. But even still, it's not impossible to improve your position in life. As long as you work for or depend on someone else, the scales would never be balanced even IF government intervention taxed the super wealthy

@BlackFox0911 99% of citizens are not too lazy to lift a finger, that's ridiculous. In this current system which is growing to global proportions, wealth determines how strong your influence is (mostly through lobbying) so that 1% has more power to make changes than all the rest. If you read through some of the laws and regulations being conjured from congress and the presidency you can see it has been by design to continue taking power from the 99% and give it to the 1%They do not want to share

I love how superficial "sources" can blow things out of proportion. Be sure NOT to consider differences between currency values (the dollar is worth ~5x more than the peso). Also, be sure to avoid investigating HOW the top 1% got there. Even if 82% of the 1% achieved their success through vigilant dedication to their life's work, simply being in the top 1% means that they should be FORCED to give their money to those who've never lifted a finger, right?
I think thats ridiculous and when I found this statistic I had to post it, people really have to see what they are getting is not what they are worth.
