One more thing, for any other aspiring jazz guitarists watching this, I highly recommend trying to learn sax solos on guitar. I used to transcribe mainly guitarists (esp before I started playing jazz). This is great, but you can end up playing very "guitaristically" and you'll use lots of phrases that just happen to lay out easy on guitar. Learning sax solos forces you out of your comfort zone and to use the whole fretboard more musically. Its mind-opening to see the possibilities.

Great! I love it. Great tone and style and swing and everything. As a learning jazz guitarist, I like to try and transcribe horn solos just because there tends to be so much going on in them. I just started working on Giant Steps. I'm able to play the first chorus at half-tempo :-S. I'm giving myself until August to get the whole thing down and up to speed. This video was inspiration for me to keep going, sax solos come out great on guitar.

I was just looking for the Coltrane´s solo in this tune and i was captivate by your playing. Cannoball´s solo is great but Coltrane´s one is better for me. Congratulations!!!!

You make your Jazzica do what it's supposed to do. Swing, man! Despite no jazz chops, I did a lot of homework before settling on a Jazzica in 2003 and I haven't had a cross word with her yet.

Thanks very much, havn't attempted any Rollins yet, am trying to nail couple more cannonball solos and a bit of Dexter at the moment.. got me thinkin though now, rollins on gtr would be pretty cool!

Thanks for the comments. My guitar is a hofner jazzica custom and its just going through a polytone mini-brute.
