The study they cite is very real, but misleading. Since it only accommodated cats who had been rushed into hospital after the fall, it failed to account for any and all cats who fell from 7+ (or indeed any number of floors) and... splashed, or in some other way were too obviously dead to benefit from a hospital visit.

In other words, we don't actually know that the survival graph somehow peaks at seven floors. We only know that, generally speaking, cats can and do survive falling very far.

FYI this video is wrong. The veterinary study he refers to was later proven invalid. The problem was a sampling error. When the veterinaries had fewer instances of dying cats from high floors they wrongly concluded the cats had parachuted. In fact when cats fell from very high floors they typically died on the spot, so they never went to the vet to be counted in the first place! This is a classic example of how to lie with statistics.
