No the handling isn't as good as they're written up to be. I had one of these from new and while it's a nice car get something RWD if you want handling that's fun.

These things go very well without taking anything into account... Is the handling and stuff really as good as theyre all written up to be?

Yeah I have looked, disconnected and reconnected, but I think I may have to get the fault codes reset at a dealer

@thesupahfly might be only disconnected cables - check under the seats, driver and passanger seat if the cables are fine ;)

Book 0-60, 9.4 seconds. Not bad, but not great for a 140 bhp car.

You are funny guy. 90 hp vs 144 hp. Please see the specifications of your beloved golf and be at least prepared with some facts when you start to discus, otherwise you make yourself look bit dummy
