My son is non-verbal so it is very hard for him to tell me how he feels after. Thank you all for giving me some information about how he might feel after. He will sometimes put his hand up to his head and I have always wondered if maybe his head hurts. He had the VNS and is doing better but not seizure free. Less meds though.

This poor girl :( To think she goes through this too ... I didn't have my first ever seizure / was diagnosed epileptic until I was 17 and to think of all the little kids who have to go through it, it kinda disheartens me a little because I hate everything about being an epileptic, all the medication, the seizures, the feelings you can get, it's just not fair to spread it the young ones or no-one at that matter ... :/

After I have mine I can SOMETIMES remember what happened and it doesn't make any sense so my brain fills in the gaps so it makes sense to me (confusing I know). If I have a headache or get sleepy out of no where that is my sign that I had a seizure. I've had them my while life and I used to hate it, but now I try to think of it as something that is unique about me. I've been seizure free for over a yr and if they wanted to ween me off my meds I would say no, only because I want to stay seizure

Complex partial seizures look like that. It's repetitive actions (playing with shirt) and just "out of it." when I have mine I'm told I wonder around and want to touch everything. I pick at my clothing and if you tell me what to do I will argue. Each person is different when it comes to what he/she does, but those are some of the signs. If someone didn't know what to look for, they would probably think they are just acting weird or just dumb. Hopefully that makes some sense.

i don't think i can tell what part was the complex partial seizure? she was just sitting there playing with her shirt but i didn't notice any kind of seizure, can u describe it to me please, i'm sorry, i'm sort of retarded when it comes to that, i used to have myoclonic seizures myself

@DRnikkiHOUSE She had her first seizure when she was 23 months old, she was diagnosed with epilepsy just a few months later at her first neurologist appointment. At just over 5 years old she was diagnosed with a severe epilepsy syndrome. Lennox Gastaut Syndrome.
I have epilepsy, and I am 21 years old. I get these all the time. Does she has JME?

How come in most of the videos I see on youtube, the seizure patients are reading a book or coloring? I'm just curious, I don't think it's a coincidence?

@MsKTMvalley my guess would be that its just easier to "catch" on video during this activity. I have lots of other seizure videos where she is doing other things as well. This is actually a pretty old video. She had major brain surgery (corpus callosotomy) 14 months after this video was taken.
