I would say it's not easy to build an RC plane that's easy to fly, and, it's easy to build one that's difficult to fly :-) I think this plane is easy to fly as it has a wide flying envelope. It forgives most of the "pilot's" errors.
Some technical details of this and other my planes are elaborated in the web page, indicated in the description of this video.

Thanks, the real one is really awesome, and most of the credits belong to both the TsAGI and Sukhoi OKB for creation of such an aerodynamic masterpiece. We, however, have an "advantage" - we don't need to worry about the implications of the g-forces on us, the "pilots" of RC planes :-)))

how much did that cost?

The components (brushless motor, Li-po battery, receiver, ESC, and two servos) cost about $250. But the labor cost of engineering the plane was zero, and the fun of flying it - priceless :-)
