Im a noob also - i got a Garrard SP 25, but dont know how the speaker set up should be.

@iAznGirl by a technics. no. question. about. it. and it must be quartz locked, as the quartz lock keeps the speed correct. this table for instance is running slow and the pitch is terribly off

garrardsw were some top notch turntables in thier day. i have an old singer stereo with a garrard turntable model he 925 very nice table indeed.

@daveyhockett Yeaaahh. Vinyls are coming back...!!! I wish I found them out EARLIER. I'm so blind for not realizing music that surroudns me everyday... seriously. But alright... thanks!!

Nice base. Runs a wee bit slow. I always thought that model was their best buy.
I don't know what cartridge you use but the tonearm will track at 2 grams.

Sooo sexyyy... I'm on a hunt for Garrad turntables.... 60's. I'm a totally noob at vinyl. Because I have just discovered them a few days ago. . . So ... what record player should I aim for? Garrads are nice though...

@iAznGirl I have many Garrard turntables in my collection. What you should buy would be up to your budget and preference. Most older turntables are idler wheel driven and can be almost impossible to find a new rubber drive idler wheel. Rebuilding is very expensive. About $40+ dollars. Make sure you pull the platter and check the rubber drive wheel before you buy an older Garrard (16/33/45/78). or 45/33/78 speeds.
