  • Well I uploaded a video of my boat with my dad driving. I don't think it was quite wide open but its running about 40 with the new prop

  • @nburgart4250 Make sure you check the compression!! If it has compression on all cylinders and spark it should be ok. I have a 75hp that sounds GREAT but put it in the water its a dog! it is low on compression on 1 cylinder so it dont fire under load.

  • @rebel937 they have the motor listed for 1200 on ebay and its local so im gonna try and check it out this weekend

  • @nburgart4250 I got lucky with the 115 it been sitting since 94. I gave $600 for the whole boat. I put about another $100 in it and its good to go for now. It needs coils because they are old and cracked and were jumping spark but I used a little silicone over the cracks for a quick fix to get by till next year.

  • @rebel937 yeah i found out about smart tabs and they cut down on chine walking really good so i might try the 140 if its in good shape

  • @nburgart4250 on a 16 ft? yeah 140 might be a bit much but I have seen it done. Going out Saturday morning to do some tubing and skiing see how it does now that I backed down the RPMS

  • @rebel937 as soon as that prop comes in im gonna get some videos of it up. I also found a 140 in really good shape but im thinking it might be to much for the boat

  • @nburgart4250 Im going to stick with the 19 for now it works good for tubing and stuff. I dont need any faster untill I get the steering arm bushings replaced on the motor. I have the motor set about 1 1/2 inches above the pad and it gets a little hairy at higher speeds and chine walks like crazy with a little over 1/4 inch of play in the steering.

  • I bet that thing will fly with a 21" or 23" prop. I got a 21 for my 70 until I can find a good deal on a 115.

  • @nburgart4250 that is with the stock 13X19 prop but I was turning way too many RPM. With me in the boat alone I can hit 62 but the poor motor is screaming. I back it down to 5500RPM and can run 48 with 4 adults.
