  • Substitute twice as much (by weight) fresh yeast for the amount of dry yeast called for in the recipe.

  • Hello if i was using fresh yest how much should i put in ??

  • @RenettoRenetto Sorry about that I was using a packet witch is 1/4 oz of active dry yeast from which then you can substitute twice as much (by weight) fresh yeast for the amount of dry yeast called for in the recipe.

    Hope this helps you :)

  • Nice job! I've been making bread in a machine for quite some time, but that's limiting. I will try your recipe; you make it look easy enough. Thanks!

  • Thank you so much for your nice comment. Good luck with the challah it is very easy and delicious to make.

  • Sandy...been awhile since I had made Challah bread and lost my old recipe...so I really appreciate the instructional video with your great tasting recipe. Had to look at another video for the braid. I did the traditional 6 braid...but I really like the braid you did. Wish I could find out how to do that one. :) Great Job!

  • sandy you are the best i have been looking for a recipe for challah bread and found your video, thanks, thanks, thanks a 1000 times over, hopefully you will do a video on the braid soon.

  • I want mine with raisins already! Thank you for this wonderful video. you are quite the accomplished baker.

  • Hi. I enjoyed the video. Looks good!

  • Hi Sandy, I have used your recipe several times with good not great results. But yours is the best results I've had with any recipe. I live in high altitude and cant seem to get a moist challah. It's always a litte too dry. Tasty but dry. Any suggestions? Best regards, Grandma Cheap Cheap

  • I just baked a loaf with this recipe and it is "great"! I was skeptical about even looking for anymore after several recipes just didn't cut it. So, I for one, am so glad you took the time to make this video. Thank you so much.

  • how much yest
