  • hello im looking at buying this camera as iv recently filmed all my stuff on a canon hv30 and i have also recently bought a canon eos 7D and starting to film on that ...could you say if its worth buying over the canon 7D or not ...thank you very much for your time if you can answer that would be amazing thanks again and great work

  • @SCOTTHQ Hi,

Well I own a 550D as well which is very much the same as the 7D in terms of picture quality. It depends on the situation. For a lot of stuff the DSLRs are hard to beat (e.g interviews, short films, music videos) and I prefer to use them. Other situations the Z5 is better (e.g sport, live events, documentary). So it really depends on what your doing. If you can afford both then having both is the best option. Would be a tough choice to pick just one or the other.

  • @palfrey411 thanks alot thats great i think i will end up getting it coz i just like the feel of a larger procamera so thank you for that and thanks alot for gettin bak so fast thanks again

  • @SCOTTHQ Thats OK, The form factor of the Z5 is very nice, far better than the 7D. That said the low light and shallow dof of the 7D is amazing. Make sure you get a good tripod for your the Z5, makes a huge difference, I own the Libec LS38 and I love it.

  • hey one question, i hope not to bother. There is a model similar to this one that has one feature called slow motion or something like that. Does this camera have that feature?

  • @MrEklipze Hi, yes there is a slow motion mode on the camera, it films 220fps for 3 or 6 seconds. (can also do 12 but it poor picture quality). At 3 & 6 though the quality is good and its roughly SD resolution.

I've used it on a few occasions, works well, sadly its not continuous slow motion but its good fun to use.

  • Nice work, I just wanted to know that can we use sony z5 for feature film purpose or not

  • Shit music.

  • @yourcoverage PAL cameras can only do 25p because its so close to 24p

  • Great short film. Got a z5 myself but really new to it all. Have heard some people say they can film in 24p where as mine can not ( only 25P). Am I missing something?

  • A lovely short, with a great choice of music.

  • @palfrey411 i see, thanks for letting me know.
