Holocaust Survivor Testimony- Total Loss

After having experienced the horrors of the Holocaust, survivors were often the last remnants of their families. Having no one left, they were forced to start their long process of rehabilitation all alone, facing a harsh and brutal world by themselves. In this clip, Holocaust survivor Nachum Bandel relates to the loss of his entire family in the Holocaust.

Some of you seem to think this is a joke? Do you know what those poor jewish people went through. Old people, little babies, children adults. People with lives. They all got murdered, tortured and worked in horrific ways. The Germans were selfish, ignorant, monsters. How could they do such a thing. @isabellamore There were people who were 100% Jewish serving in the German armed forces but very few and always hiding. The film Europa Europa describes what happened to Solomon Perel who fought near Leningrad for example. On my channel there is a film of a person who joined the SS in a succesful attempt to survive. In WW1 around 100,000 Jews served in the German military and around 12,000 were killed - a much higher loss rate than that of non Jews.

A bit over a million at Auschwitz alone are recorded in the SS Books. They kept tallies as best as they could, because Himmler wanted frequent progress reports.

from my big famaly in Poland only my grandpa survive and his brother. after the war he get married and my mom and my uncle born and come to Israel.

my dad how spose to be 81 this year (I was born whan he was 49) work in a force camp in Romenia and come to israel on a small immigrant ship to Israel. the ship was bomb and the British took him to Cyprus refuge war captive camp. now I live in israel were my ppl can defend tham self. I hope we can achive peace here.

horror11 100,000 Jewish soldiers?There WERE no full blooded Jews serving in Wehrmacht. Some were quarter Jewish, some werent aware that they had Jewish blood.

Some did apply to be declare Aryan which was a long procedure, most of them were dismissed, deported to labor camps which they did not survive due the harsh condition.

Most of them lost members of their families, and not everyone who worn uniform was a Nazi. Actually for same serving in Wehrmacht saved their lives.
