That is indeed a false statement. If swords continue to be folded not only are there no benefits, but the steel begins to deteriorate. Most modern steels do not need to be folded as folding is the method used to purify the steel content. Folding on modern steels is merely aesthetic.

yeh, the steel has to be folded alot. one of my katanas has over 20.000 folds on it, the more the better.

I wanna add somtin wat i said be4 in part 1 of this movies. It may be so cool to watch but i imagine it would take alot of practice to cut off each time those tiny bits. And ohh 1 more thing im not jap but katanas are the best swords in the whole fucking world. I saw a documentary about it. Im not talking about ebay amaturistic shit. Do you know how much effort and time a real smit throws in making 1 ...just one Katana....6 months ..thats how much!!!
Heh, music was a remix of the music from the Jurassic Park game boy game. The first one.

I don't know about that, but it was a song I got from the game Platypus.

i have a couple of sharpened katanas, well actually 6 of them. but i don't recommend moving so slowly and raising your arms too high up or the opposing fighter would easily slit you in the stomach.:)

Dude, this wasn't a real combat situation or a combat training session...they're JUST cutting mats, not people, just to get a feel for using the sword.

The things they are cutting are from Japan, and equal the general width, thickness, and density of a human arm.
So this would be your arm, if they were swinging at you.

Could also be your neck.
