Douglas was a frickin hack !He is the reason Stan Mikita wore a helmet,after douglas cut part of his ear off with his stick.

This was a Wednesday night, and if my memory serves me correct, "Hockey Night In Canada" had expanded to a two-nights-a-week format (Saturdays and Wednesdays) in the Fall of 1965.
CTV was made part of the package, with the regular-season Wednesday-night games, while the CBC had the Saturday and Stanley Cup games.
Since the U.S. Gemini 8 spacecraft had run into trouble in orbit that evening, I suspect CTV's broadcast of the game was interrupted a few times for news updates.

I couldn't agree more in what your saying. The Canadien was nailing the Maple Leafer until his teammates jumped in witch is a lame move from the Maple Leafs.
