The Dark & Stormy is a classic cocktail made with ginger beer, fresh lime juice and Gossling's Black Seal Rum. The Dark N Stormy gained popularity through the sailing community up and down the east coast of the US, having been brought home by various sailors who frequented Bermuda. Most bars in port towns from Portland, Maine to Newport, Rhode Island to Annapolis, Maryland and beyond have Dark N Stormy's on their menu, made with various brands of Ginger Beer.

Yes... but the darker the better and Gossling's Black Seal Rum was the traditional pour.

Yes The Captain will work... Captain Morgan makes nice rums... However... the traditiional pour for this drink is the Gossling's and this is considerably darker and a different flavor. But... pour what you've got!

Any dark rum would work, right?

Would this work with Captain Morgan's Dark Rum as well? It's the only dark rum available near where I live, unfortunately.
