Another update video showing the work in progress on the new layout. Very slow going at the moment due to going out filming etc plus a whole heap of other stuff. Some more work has been done to the layout however since the last update video. This includes, the last of the point motor's being fitted to the lower level baseboards, some ballasting ( to be covered in a later video ) & the fitting of two tunnel mouths & also the tunnel linings, & some adjustment to the track. Plus some more fitting of DCC decoders. Test running is almost complete & we'll be moving on to the next phase which is construction of the upper level baseboards (ten of them to make), & also finishing off the ramp, which will connect the two levels.
Next up date video will appear once the next base board is fitted. Any questions, please feel ask, I'll do my best to answer them for you. Another new video series coming shortly.

@Hartsock91 It had to be all re-insulated, then boarded out etc. Took around a year to do, as funds & time allowed.

never have points in a tunnel
10FlyingScotsmans 6 months ago
@10FlyingScotsmans No sorry disagree, yes you can if planned in advance before building, by having removable scenic sections etc. What you have to bear in mind that some times you have to due to space constraints etc.
Had points (cross over) in a tunnel on a previous layout. Was built with easy access to the points. Never had any problems what so ever.

@ay76 Soz, I posted the comment before I saw the other tunnel. I thought it would be longer than that!

@10FlyingScotsmans No worries. But your quite right about having them in a tunnel with having some from of access to the points. Regards.
