There has been much press about this workshop. Sadly, that was the result of a negative perception of one participant. Universally, other participants, as well as the scholars--even Pearl Harbor survivors who took part, do not recognize this workshop in the description by Dr. Penelope Blake. Read the complaint by Blake, and responses from many participants, at http://www.pacifichistoricparks.org/teachers_workshop/2010/NEHcontroversy.html. Blake was able to rope in FOX and the American Legion.
What a beautiful oli aloha - so nice to hear all the places in the 'ahupua'a of Waikiki where my ohana are from. Mahalo! Makes me so homesick living on the continent for those wonderful Tuahine rains!
