The Royal Corps of Signals (often simply known as the Royal Signals - abbreviated to R SIGNALS) is one of the combat support arms of the British Army.

The march past music is called, "Begone Dull Care".

Performed by the Band of the Royal Corps of Signals.

Lyrics:
Begone, dull care!
I prithee begone from me;
Begone, dull care!
Thou and I can never agree.
Long while thou hast been tarrying here,
And fain thou wouldst me kill;
But i' faith, dull care,
Thou never shalt have thy will.

Too much care
Will make a young man grey;
Too much care
Will turn an old man to clay.
My wife shall dance, and I shall sing,
So merrily pass the day;
For I hold it is the wisest thing,
To drive dull care away.

Hence, dull care,
I'll none of thy company;
Hence, dull care,
Thou art no pair for me.
We'll hunt the wild boar through the wold,
So merrily pass the day;
And then at night, o'er a cheerful bowl
We'll drive dull care away.

  • 6th in line in order of precedence, just in front of all the guards and infantry.

  • @TheMiketruebody Royal Logistics Corps?

  • The third soldier in the world was a signaller. He was enlisted to sort out the communications between the other two......

  • Signals a teeth arm? No! Vitally important? Yes.

  • Not been a teeth arm for a number of years, facts gentlemen, facts. (ex-tech RSigs, 23yrs) even Wikipedia gets it right.

  • The Royal Corps of Signals are a teeth arm. Communications in war have been going longer than any infantry or artillery unit you need to be told to fire your weapon before you do it! Thats communication for you!! So three cheers to the Royal Corps of Signals (Certa Cito)

  • Quite simply the best corps in the army the one and only royal corps!

  • The Royal Signals are not a Combat Service Support Arm but they are a Combat Support Arm. Although they do serve on the front-line and are in harms way their job is not to push forward and make contact with the enemy as it is with the Combat Arms.

    Trying to define the men and women who serve in this role as something they're not is a discredit - not a credit - to their service, as if to imply that there is less honour and importance in their role!

    Bravo on the video.

  • signals are a teeth arm not support arm

  • the signals are not a support arm they are a teeth arm, alongside the infantry, houselhold calvary, tank regiments, royal engineers royal artillery army air corps
