I've been cutting my own hair since I was 18. From what I could see, you did it right. Main cut the first day, little trims for strays later. Great job.

the easiest way to cut your own hair it to just make a low ponytail on each side of your head and pull the hair tie down the ponytail to the ends leaving how much you want to cut and just cut it.
