Everyone gets paid to do a job, so that's not the criteria. The difference is between obsessional fanatics on a mission to 'save' everyone, even if it means twisting data, and scientists treating data as they should. Debating this is like debating religion, but a few sham scare examples, many forgotten: prohibition (liquor caused Everything), flouride, strontium 90, cranberries, apples (Alar), DDT, PCBs, second-hand smoke, Y2K, Global Cooling (1975), warming (now), CO2 and plastics. All manias.
Research from looney fad-scare environmentalists organizations? LOL Not sure what you're talking about but that sounds funny. Well I'd agree that it's difficult to get truly unbiased information. The American Council on Science is quite biased. Anytime your paycheck depends on the outcome of a study and not just the conclusion of a study, it is not science and it's not information I'd trust. There's a lot of bullshit out there, you just have to make up your own mind.
I would sooner have the research come from industry or private foundations rather than loony fad-scare environmentalist organizations, who only exist to create fear, usually by exagerration or lies.
When the lies are disproved, these characters just move on to the next scare.
Yup they're paid liars for industry. They're pretty bad. Samantha from The Daily Show did an interview with them about organic gardening which made it apparent where they get their money, it was funny as hell.
