Flashpoint, The Academy of Media Arts and Sciences, is committed to the advancement of higher learning in the field of digital arts and entertainment technologies. Surrounded by peers and educators with a passion for the future, students at Flashpoint can pursue two-year programs in Game Development, Film, Computer Animation and Recording Arts. But education is just the starting point. The desire to do things differently, to offer solutions that are revolutionary and bold, is more than our mission; it is at the core of our very culture. We have engineered our departments to simulate the converging digital entertainment industries, not a traditional school. Isolated "administrators" do not control our coursework. Instead, world-class professionals share their knowledge to develop each curriculum. Real-world tools and techniques, the latest technical developments and trends, and hands-on experience are seamlessly integrated into every class. In this way, the efforts of each participant reflect the highest levels of taste, style and technological acumen. Digital entertainment is an expanding, ever-evolving, trillion-dollar industry, worldwide. And Flashpoint is putting its students at the forefront, igniting creativity and preparing the next generation of digital professionals by blazing a new trail to success. See what everyone is saying about Flashpoint Academy!

  • thanks!

  • I'd like to see some comments ANYWHERE on the internet from people who are actually going to Flashpoint. All I see is self serving marketing bullshit from the owners of the academy (or is it SCAM?).

  • Also EVERY film school seems to have mixed reviews, except NYU and USC, and my boss told me beacuse this is due to alot "of lazy hipsters" that "think" they want to do film, but don't put in the nessecary legwork to get into the industry. Both my Production managers told me to avoid these types of people when putting together student films. No matter what school you go to, FILM is hard!

  • I am not a student at flashpoint, but work with several other students at an internship I'm working on now which I was lucky enough to find through craigs list. I'm debating which film school I want to attend, and those that have been to Flash Point LOVE it. I've questioned other crew members from Cal Tech, Illnois institue of arts, columbia(chi), and depaul, but none we as passionate about their education as those from FP.

  • does anyone know the avg gpa for sudents at flaspoint?

  • The staff is excellent but a little disorganized due to the school's ongoing development. The facility is state of art and you will work hands on with the equipment almost immediately. Of course the school isnt accredited yet, so dont count on writing off your school loan interest on your taxes. Wonderful teachers who will help a lot. Flashpoint Academy Standards(student work and effort ratings) are kind of high schoolish but they think it works. They won't get you a job so don't count on it.

  • I want to go to flashpoint!

  • You sound like someone who works at Flashpoint? - Sponsoring the same old crap from the website and multi video interviews. And to tell you that the Illinois Institute of Art has a GREAT digital film program. And what seems to be FP strong point, is trying to brag about how better they are. Which is sad. I, among others, are arguing that FP can't cut the chase. They're saying that when you graduate you will have a job. Well, that's unlikely. And it's not a waste from a 4yr school. :( bud

  • In the film world all that matters is your experience and your Reel. A degree is not something that is generally looked for. But that being said, Flashpoint is a brand new school. It is in the accreditation process. Degrees are coming. They just cant offer them yet

  • This ad SUCKS 100%!!!!
