WOW provides more of a robust crafting than anything I have seen, and WOW gives you more control of modifying the game to your liking where LOTRO only lets you change the UI appearance but not the utility of the screen and bags etc.

5. If you've seen the movies Lord of the Rings then you know what the game is all about. The War in Middle Earth and the quests and storylines follow what is in the Tolkien Novels and the movies.

In comparison...LOTRO has better graphics and a huge storyline with many instance battles which lead to cutscenes and a feeling of more involvement and story than WOW provides.

4. Saying LOTRO is a copy of WOW is like saying WOW is a copy of Dark age of Camelot, Asheron's Call or any other MMORPG which deals with humans/dwarves/elves and orcs/goblin combat etc. The LOTRO storyline was written by Tolkien back in the 1950's or 1960's I cant remember which...so it would be more accurate to say WOW was a copy of LOTRO than the other way around. Though both LOTRO and WOW creatures and combat are based off mythological creatures and stories than each other.

3. If you are used to WOW then the pvp in LOTRO is called pvmp....basically you don't fight other players normal characters you fight their monster characters which anyone can create once they hit lvl 10. Basically the monster characters are somewhat weaker starting out, hence the need for hordes of them but you get to power them up thru destiny points you get from doing pvp and from leveling up your normal toons.

2. LOTRO has pretty much the same type fee plan as WOW save for the fact you can buy a lifetime subscription. If you buy a lifetime subscription it costs a little more than 1 years worth of paying monthly subscriptions but you don't pay again after that year except for expansions. The recent expansion you also got some extras that others didnt get just for being a lifetime subscriber.
