Images from probably my favourite video game - Konami's Snatcher. A game like no other, aka a Cyberpunk adventure in an interactive comic book format interspersed with the occassional shooting sequence (where you could use a Sega Menacer gun !). Originally written and directed by Hideo Kojima of Metal Gear Solid fame. Undoubtedly a cult classic now, judging by many other Youtube videos, including infamous shady shower scenes. - Yes this game had it all- and was heavily influenced by Blade Runner (another of my fav films), Terminator and other sci-fi films such as Dune. I used to play this on the Sega Mega-CD and Multi-Mega, this was the only official English translation, and itself a REMAKE of the 1988 release on NEC machines. If you have a Sega CD, you must try this game. It still stacks up to this day, against all the GTAs. The actual in-game music also deserves a mention .. Check out other youtube videos for in-game footage.
@PsychotronicWar And you should, those are some fantastic games :D I *just* remember another really great cyberpunk adventure game: "AlternativA". It's a 3D point'n'click game, with pre-rendered backgrounds, very oldschool but also modern. It's pretty easy and not the longest, but you can't stop playing it once you get into it. Available on Steam.

@Samoutuomas : Just bought Gray Matter and Gemini Rue. Because of you, I will melt this weekend in front of my monitor...

@PsychotronicWar Yep, Grey Matter was one of those I wanted to recommend... But it's not actually very cyberpunkish, I still haven't finished it yet but it's got a great story and is kind of creepy/horrorish. Good voice acting and nice pre-rendered backgrounds.
Really need to go to bed now (2 important things scheduled, early in the morning - it's 0900PM here and I had a bad night's sleep last night), so... comment something and I'll reply to you when I can. Or send a PM.

@Samoutuomas : I agree. There are so many underrated titles just because they are not supported by multinationals. The only relevant title I found from my small research was Gray Matter...

@PsychotronicWar I'll definately do that, I appreciate a fellow Cyberpunk-scifi fan :) As I'm writing this I'm trying to remember a couple of very new PC-releases (point'n'click adventure also)... I'll send a message as soon as I remember more than two of them.
I'm an avid indie -supporter and collect freeware games also, mostly because 80% of mainstream is, well, shallow (not to say I don't have lots of consoles and a good gaming PC with tons of games for them).

@Samoutuomas : If you know any similar cyberpunk adventures, please share the titles. As far as I remember, the last good one I played was Bloodnet back from the 90s (and Deus Ex but this is considered as action more)...

@PsychotronicWar Yesh :) I know a few others too that are similar (Cyberpunk adventure), but Gemini Rue makes them all look like crap in comparison. It's really ambitious and well-crafted (They added some action shootout-scenes which are really cool although a little clunky at first, really tells they wanted to create a game that has it's own personality). The music is a lot like in the Snatcher which is also a plus.
Just heard of a game called Technobabylon, looks awesome too!

@Samoutuomas : Oh man, I saw the trailer! Reminded of Beneath A Steel Sky and The Longest Journey. Pointless to mention that I am gonna buy it this Friday! Now THESE ARE GOOD VIDEO GAMES...

@Samoutuomas :Multinationals are synonymous with constipation. They 'blackmail' to upgrade your system every 6 months to correspond to their games' prerequisites. Older games were darker, their gameplay was epic & they managed to combine thought, decent shooting (Doom, The Heretic, Wolfenstein) & immersion (Monkey Island, Eyes of the Beholder, Zak McKraken, Saboteur 2, Paperboy, The 7th Guest, Gabriel Knight, etc.). I will check Gemini Rue since it must have this cyberpunk vibe.

@PsychotronicWar Same here, I couldn't agree more. Just wanted to point out that many of these games (especially japanese ones) are heavily movie inspired. Luckily there are STILL a few games & companies left who do games like these early 1990's -stuff were.
I MUST(!) recommend you play/check out a game called Gemini Rue, it's a pretty recent adventure game for PC, a lot like Snatcher and Blade Runner. It has a very dark atmosphere but manages to be colorful. A masterpiece.
