I love your tender approach. One of my favourite videos.

Very very good!
Reminds me of my days as a choir boy!

Great sensitivity. Bravo.

Stainer is so underrated. This just goes to show what a genius he was. And what a fantastic piano rendition. Any chance of adding some more piano versions from The Crucifixion?

There is a new posting of this sung by a choir:
"Stainer: "God so Loved the World" from The Crucifixion"
But, unfortunatly, the choir sings it a bit flat. :-(

I like this, well played. Your transcription leaves in all those fabulous alto and tenor line suspensions the middle parts in choirs just love in thes piece. I also like the way you enhance the basswith those great bottom Ds. Lovely, a good posting.

@longeaton34 Thanks. I look back on this now, and I'm impressed with the musicality of this recording. There's a sensitivity in my playing, and an attentiveness to detail that -- it seems to me -- have been absent in my more recent playing. I'd love to get back to this caliber of musicianship again.
That being said, my tempos swing rather widely in this rendition. :)
Cheers,
Bruce

Very nice interpitation of this beautiful piece. I have sung this so many times!
Have you ever given playing a pipe organ a try?

I certainly have, but I'm really more of a pianist. Of course, I love the sound of a pipe organ when it's played by a real master.
Cheers,
