This is the first practise I've taped. We're playing a set of two jigs: Monaghan jig and Nora Crionna (does any Irish know what the hell does that name mean??) I hope you'd enjoy it!

  • outstanding

  • Thanks :) This the unique graphic document of what we used to do (and be)...we're not together anymore

  • that is a real shame, i really want to start a group like that. However Im 18 and don't know anybody that can play any traditional instrument to anywhere near that standard

  • Sorry about that, we are from Spain, there're many trads musicians over here (Irish trad and much more...) so it's kind easy to find people to play with :) We're not together but we keep playing in our own each projects. I play breton music now, flute and pipes. I suppose we need to evolve...anyway, you're still very young and I'm sure you'll find the way of playing in a trad band :D

  • Great choones there, lads! Who made the zouk? Looks like and Abnett...?

  • Actually it is :) I'd like to get one of those new Forster

  • @lerudner nora dear would be A nora

    Crionna means Wisely

so the name of the song is Nora wisely

  • that's interesting.

Seamus Connolly once told me that "Nora Crionna" meant 'Nora dear' or 'Nora of my heart' or some such, but i suppose anything is possible . . . I don't know anything much about the Irish language myself:-)
