G.I.Joe comic issue #28 Marvel comics animation commercial

I am the first to post this and I am so happy to bring this clip to the rest of the G.I.Joe fans on youtube!!! This is the long lost Marvel comics commercial of G.I.Joe issue #28. For the past 15 years, I have only seen posted on the net a partial clip of the animation which probably came from a toy commercial from which the animation was lifted.

This is the full comic commercial! This is the commercial which got me convinced to start buying and collecting G.I.Joe back in the day when I was only 8 years old!

This is the full 30 second spot. It was the commercial which got me to start buying G.I.Joe back in 1983!

This comic commercial introduces the Cobra Rattler and G.I.Joe W.H.A.L.E. Hovercraft.

I don't know how many fans will agree with me but the comic commercials rivaled the actual G.I.Joe daily cartoon in terms of animation quality, story elements, music, and direction.

It is because of the initial cartoon commercials for the comics which created the demand for the daily series which was good but not as good as it could had been if it was produced along the same principles as these 30 second commercials. I fell in love with G.I.Joe with the help of these commercials. They were brilliant and still are after 25 years!

After waiting 25 years, I wish the new live action movie would live up to the exciting standards set by this groundbreaking series! Instead, the new G.I.Joe "Rise of Cobra" seems to be rewriting things as they go along. So much for progress. What I have on youtube is what I feel is G.I.Joe. I hope everyone will agree!

Too bad Shout Factory wasn't able include these commericals on their DVD release of the Sunbow series, the most we got were a few quick scenes during one of the making of documentaries.

Best shot ever seen by the Hovercraft, or WHALE, was when Roadblock and the one guy who piloted the SHARK had to down a Rattler, Roadblock picked up the broken turret, angled it with his back and barked "you've got elevation, shoot!" and downed the plane. Classic fight.

So am I the only one who noticed the complete ridiculousness of this commercial? The Cobra planes were wiping out the GI Joe tanks and yet Duke calls in hovercrafts to bail their asses out? How is a hovercraft any better than a tank in this situation? Are the Cobra planes and Destro afraid of hovercrafts or something? Because the way I see it tanks would have more protection and more firepower than a hovercraft. The writers for the show and comics are mentally retarded. It all makes sense now.
