And people ask where Chelsea fans were when they were shit... this turnout was fucking impressive. One year if I remember right we took almost 10,000 away to Sunderland.
I'd have much preferred the old days, we may not used to win so much but silverware isn't everything.

5th in a table that's not sourced and doesn't state the seasons which are covered, c'mon mate, do better than that.
Yes attendances did drop for some clubs in the early 80's, but Arsenal and Tottenham were averaging over 25,000 in both 81 and 82 whilst Chelsea were averaging 13,000 and 12,000. Even West Ham were getting better average attendances than Chelsea for most of the 80's, so your argument simply doesn't stand up.

@runtinsweet over 50,000 in a few division 2 games??? ! It took you 40 years to get an average attendence of anywhere near 40,000 from 1960. From 1973 to 1998 you only got an average attendence over 30,000 in 2 years. The statistics don't have you fifth at all fella, down in 8th or 9th at least. Your home support has been consistently poor for decades.
"where were you when you were shit".... WE WERE HERE, THERE, EVERYFUCKING WHERE, WHERE WERE YOU. haha this just proves it

my reply to that is usually along the lines of "chasing you round Highbury , White hart lane , old trafford" etc.
