Sneakin' Around is a collaborative album by guitarists Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed, released in 1991.
Reed and Atkins had done a series of recording collaborations nearly 20 years before this release. It peaked at No. 68 on the Billboard Country Albums charts.
At the Grammy Awards of 1993, Sneakin' Around won the Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance. Chet was also nominated that year for his work with The Chieftains' "Tahitian Skies". recorded in 1991 in Chet Atkins Workshop in Nashville. Enjoy. • IF Anybody thinks Reed and Chester never picked together your friggin nutz I was there in Nashville and both were friends and we picked they picked They were the best of friends!

  • Crazy, go tell Deaton-Flanigen in Nashville this is a fake. They produced it. My daughter worked there at the time and I have an original copy of the production tape.

  • Jerry Reed. Grossly underestimated composer and player.

Chet...well. Much as I like him, the best I can say is that he laid the foundations for far greater players. Take a look at Richard Smith playing a Jerry Reed medley.

    Great vid though.

  • In any key, the I, IV, V (one, four, five) are the main chords for literally hundreds if not thousands of tunes (mainly 50's RockNRoll, Blues) In A, those are A, D and E7. The pattern is different as to when to play, but go for the feel of the changes and use A, D and E or E7

  • Thanks for the response! I understand A, but what do you mean by I,IV,V? I can't read music or tab, I play by ear only. Did you mean all over the neck?

  • Classic Reed. Key of A. I, IV, V mainly. All over the net. Email me for the music
