A more delicate tribute and belated birthday present to the one and only Marlene Dietrich. While iconic for her sexy song routines, in all the films of hers I have seen she shows tons and tons of emotions and portrays nice, innocent characters who get put through hell in several of my favourites. Marlene in life was quite tough, and almost sarcastic, but apparently secretly nice and I have amazing respect for all the work entertaining troops and so on during WWII.
This isn't as good as it could have been, but I spent a surprising amount of time on it and I didn't have as many sensitive clips of her as I would've liked. Anyway I hope you enjoy it :)

Clips from:
SONG OF SONGS
THE SCARLET EMPRESS
BLONDE VENUS
GARDEN OF ALLAH
SHANGHAI EXPRESS

Music is 'Love Remembered' by Wojciech Kilar from 'Bram Stoker's Dracula'

  • Beautiful tribute to Marlene! The first time I saw her in Blonde Venus, I was astonished by her mysterious presence and so emotional acting. The passage 1:00 to 1:18 is absolutely enchanting ; which movie is it taken from?

  • @LaurenMega999 Aww thank you! I agree, she is so stunning in Blonde Venus and I love her outfit in the 'Hot Voodoo' song routine. The film in that clip is 'Song of Songs' one of my favourites of Marlene's

  • I loved the song she sang. 'Where Have All The Flowers Gone' it was on one of those old TV shows I cannot remember which, but she was still stunning even then I guess she was in her late fifties. this is a very good tribute to her. By the way my laptop and Acer also and it has never given me any trouble and it has taken a fair bit of abuse.

  • @HAPPYTHELEAF Thank you :) I think I recall her daughter being educated with Gene, thanks for reminding me though. My laptop's also taken much abuse but is pretty resilent

  • Bonnie, gorgeous tribute!!!...with this and Barbara Steele, you are making such beautiful tributes...so elegant!! She was remarkably tough and sarcastic...her personality really dominated the screen.

  • @northernoir I agree! Over the years, I appreciate Marlene more than ever and many actresses who followed her admired her greatly.

  • Beautiful tribute.I never took to Ms.Dietrich when I was young but she has grown on me over the years.Like Gene, she had a unique beauty and mystique that that eventually win your heart.

    Thanks.
