Unfortunately, the people that don't have a problem with Corporations profiting billions off of the sick and dying, have already dismissed this guy as "one of them thare intellectual folk" and tuned out long ago.

Yeah lets show a BIASed website to show statistics about the US... Look at the damn moto - For a stronger, cleaner, fairer world economy... Holy shit that makes me want to puke. Question i want answered is; according to who? There are so many other things involved, including monetary policy and political cronyism, need for tort reform, etc. that drives up the cost of HC in the US. Its not just as simple as looking as some arbitrary statistics compiled by a group that FAVORS socialist HC.

If you think the US has a free-market healthcare system any argument you try to make will be horribly flawed. There is a reason the US became the richest nation with the best healthcare (before massive government involvement). Why with NO government HC spending did everyone have access to a doctor and NO one had to wait or was turned away? Not to mention sustainability w/ progression... We'll see in another 50 years.

@sunrise2104 So in which case, this statistic would suggest at the very least that the NHS has to be doing something right to keep the people happy, and would be a starting point to look into the details to perhaps get more of an idea of what determines a good or bad service?

@Nightmare060 No, the 93% stat isn't anecdotal evidence. Taking the accounts of a handful of NHS patients and presenting them as representative of the system as a whole would be anecdotal evidence but surveying a representative sample of patients with a well constructed questionaire is a pretty sound way of determining the attidute of the general public towards the NHS. You're correct that on it's own it does little to demonstrate overall quality but customer satisfaction is an important factor.

Isn't the 93% statistic anecodtal evidence? I love how the NHS works, don't get me wrong. But playing devils advocate for a moment, how useful is that statistic in actually determining the quality of the NHS?

Considering many americans strongly view america as a christian nation, one can ask the question to these people "what would jesus do?" . I ask would jesus stand in the hospital corridore behind a desk and under a sign with the caption "billing dept " .
