This worn out old ship has seen better days. I don't have space or money for it, so it is time for the car to go to a new owner.

  • Hope this old Pontiac dosen't end up running for her life in the derbys that most of these beautiful old boats end up. But it is what it is; big, not fuel effient, no real options, and not very collectable and rough around the edges. hope she goes to a good home.

  • @dmx011

Its Sad, but that's likely where it'll end up. The guy I sold it to said he was going to use the drivetrain in a Firebird he's restoring. He also said the body and frame were probably going to be built into a derby car.

I see it this way; the car was at the end of its life-cycle. It had a lot of hard miles and was now in an unwanted, expensive to restore state. I would rather see the Pontiac donate it's heart and go out in a blaze of glory, than continue to rot in uselessness.

  • So sad. I know what your feeling man! I to get emotionally attached to cars, and it's so hard to let it go, even if all odds are against you. Like when we had to park the F250 Diesel truck, I don't recall another time in my life where i've been so down, and felt so bad. But at least it's for the best, it was bad enough just pulling it off the road, I can't imagine what I'd do if I had to get rid of it. At least I still have it, and ready for restoration. But I do miss driving it

  • @IDIDieselJohn

You and I see vehicles in a very similar light! I have the same feelings toward my Lincoln.

I tried to keep the Pontiac a few times. I knew it would stay close if I gave it to my friend, and I purposely took it back when he was moving out of state. But I just didn't have the space or money for it, and I couldn't let it rot on someone else's property forever since they wanted it gone. Its one of those "no win" situations.

  • Glad to see it got sold instead of scrapped. Hope it doesn't wind up on a derby track.

  • If I had an unlimited time-frame to sell it, I would have tried my best to make sure that didn't happen; but it was on somebody else's property and they wanted it gone.

    See my response to "dmx011".

  • Would rather see it in a derby than get crushed.

  • @CorvusCasull Amen brother, Amen.I have a 95 Roadmaster that I couldn't see it going to the junkyard...saved it from scrap and restored it up, but no time for it...just sitting...it even has the LT1 and runs great...

  • @101xfmrogers

I did think about scrapping it but quickly changed my mind. It's tough with the full size 70s cars, especially the non hard-top, low option models. Such a shame that almost nobody wants 'em, Well, save for me and all the people who enjoy my videos!

  • hey @ least you saved it from the crusher - Initially I thought you were going to send it to scrap!
