What they don't tell you is that this woman attempted suicide by taking pills. She passed out and her newly aquired dog ate her face. Personally I don't think she deserves the face since she was trying to kill herself in the first place. She would have left behind 2 teenage daughters had she been successful. The ethical boundaries in this case have been surpassed in so many was its astounding! Research people...research!

If I understand correctly, before undergoing surgery the doctors have to check if the patient is psychologically fit for a transplant.

The emotional trauma this woman must have had to endure and probably is still enduring as a result of seeing another face in the mirror that doesnt belong to her is serious. I believe the facial tissue can be transplanted, but emotionally this woman is going through psychological trauma which we don't understand fully.
