The first "Sparks" mankind created was when striking two stones together.

When I moved to Arkansas back in 1986 there were a LOT of homes made out of native stone from the spectacular to the rudimentary. It inspired me to think about how many ways mankind has incorporated the....stone.

From then on I've kept a wicker plate full of stones in my living room....sometimes rearranging them or just putting them in a heap. People who come to my house always touch or mess with my stones.... I find that pleasant.

Thanks to Jan Svankmajer for the wonderful surreal stop-motion footage
