*Please Read* The Air-Field T-28 from Nitroplanes is my Favorite plane to fly, but has a few weak spots. Besides the weak hinge lines in the cold (which I reinforced with Duct tape) the prop hub is made from plastic and can easily be broken with the slightest nick on rough landings during gusty wind conditions.
When I tried to order the hub, I found every source sold out, thus putting this sweet plane out of commission. To get it in the air again, I decided to try a Master Airscrew prop from Windsor Propeller company. I tried the 13 x 6 first, and it was not enough. But when I put the 13 x 8 prop on, it worked great. I was able to get it within 2 days and have my plane flying again.

Thanks kindly for all your support. I would appreciate if you would please take a moment rate the video, subscribe to be notified when I produce another RC Television show, and if you know of others that would like to see this video, please pass it on.

Best Regards,
Dave Herbert

  • Hey Great info.. Just another tip that has worked really well for me... I went to a 5s 33oomah batter.. now she screams with lots of vertical power for aero batics.. see my videos.. just added.. no other mods were needed. ESC takes just great..

  • i love your channel and everything you do but i cant help but notice at 4:34 you have uggs correct me if im wrong i mean no harm just curious

  • i am very new to rc aircraft, so when you mentioned in this video, you got two props that were 13-8 and 13-6 and your aircraft came with a 13-9. What do those numbers mean? Is it something do to with the pitch of the blades? I'd appreciate the explaination. Thanks in advance!

  • Thanks Dave great video and advice, might just go ahead and order a couple of those 13X8s for mine. Biggest problem I have had with mine is bad servos. Plan on replacing them all over the winter since I have had failed flap servos and gear servos thus far.

  • I'd really like to recreate that broken hub on my CNC mill if you woulnt mind sending me the broken one. It's such a nice looking assembly.

  • Once again it's Dave to the rescue! Solving the problems that plague the RC community...I truly do not understand why parts for these planes are not readily available. Does FMS not realize the viablility and profitability of the replacement part market? They should be flooding the market with parts for these beautiful warbirds. just a thought...

Love the great vids, keep 'em coming. Happy New Year.

  • Dave My brothers and I really love watching youre videos and all the info that you share with us. We wanted to wish you and yours Happy Holidays.I Also wanted to share with everyone, hobby paridise carries FMS brand Planes and parts and they are the same ones that makes airfeild I believe and they have many parts available for 800 & 1400 Planes that nitroplanes dont keep in stock. Keep the vidioes coming and looking forward to the next years new vids.

  • I always learn a lot from you! thank you as always!!

  • Dave, as usual you tips and tricks are priceless! Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I like how the music is in the background so I can hear your comments and also the sound of the plane which give me and idea of how much power you are applying. It's a huge help!

  • My favorite plane as well. Thanks for the info on the 13x8x3 blade prop, Dave & Happy Holidays..
