  • She has a lovely voice, but she needs to learn the words. I know this piece forwards and back and I double-checked my score. The correct words are:

In trutina mentis dubia fluctuant contraria lascivus amor et pudicitia.

    Sed eligo quod video collum iugo prebeo;

ad iugem tamem suave, suave transeo.

  • This was recorded nearly 7 years ago in her International debut year, when she was just 16 years old. I think she knows all the words now.

  • Not to be rude, but knowing the words now is not the point. I was involved in vocal music for many years and would never have dreamed of performing a piece I didn't know hands down, much less at something as important as Bryn Terfel's festival. A performer has a responsibility to their audience to know their stuff -- that's why we practice so much.

  • I won't get into a lengthy debate about it, suffice it to say that every performer is human, and few performers of her age have been in the situation Hayley was in, back in 2003.

  • Wow!! Thanks for posting this! Was this before Pure was released?

  • It was before the UK and US releases of Pure but after the NZ and Oz releases.

  • Optime sicut Angeli coram Deo cantat Hayley. Gratias Deo agimus pro ejus voce coeleste et spendida. Vivant sequentes!

  • Pretty as a picture. Music ain't bad either!

  • @TheHanoskis

    Last line should be:

ad IUGUM tamen suave suave transeo.

    'Praebeo' is better than'prebeo'.

  • @TheHanoskis I think she only has very strange pronunciation, she is young and never had latin perhaps :-)

  • @Bestman3007 hahahahhaha exectly, very nice voice but..... legato please, breath control and latin pronounce,, sorry my english

  • I am 15 and singing this with an Orchestra tomorrow evening in London in St Pauls. I'm terrified! But I know the words :) I hope... :p She sings this very well - I have less vibrato but it works either way!

  • she has beautiful tone! but some of the diction and cutting at ends of phrases the best in this performace

  • Nice voice, but she sings it in the u-hu-speak

    In truhutina mehentis duhubia...............

Not knwowing the Words and not whwt they mean. Karl Orff in Chewing Gum Version....

  • quiza sea nervios pero se equivoca en la letra, sin embargo bonita chica y bonita voz
