  • Killing a butterfly changes the future, but killing dinosaurs doesn't ?

    That doesn't make any sense

  • @alossauro88

The dinosaur was already going to die a few minutes later. The change in its time and manner of death was so small that the future was not noticeably altered. The butterfly, on the other hand, could easily have changed something, prevented by the fact that it was stepped on and brought back to the future.

  • The effects are better than the effects that Syfy channel puts out in their movies.

  • I love this movie too and glad to own it on dvd. Maybe one day it will be out on blu ray.

  • I guess I'm also one of the few who liked this film. I love time travel stories, and this one fascinated me. I read the short story when I was a kid, too. The idea that one miniscule change in the past can alter major events in history is a very evocative premise. Yes, the special effects aren't great, but if you let that go, you will get lost in the story.

  • I was excited to see this movie, but it really, really pissed me off. Specifically how the future changes in "waves" instead immediately on a tangent from the point where they traveled back. Fine its a movie, and I shouldn't look for logic in such an absurd story, but damn did that annoy me!!!

  • I don't think that the CGI is all that bad as everyone thinks. It may not be really digitally clear but it still works. Ok it is not a Jurasic Park CGI winner but it is not bad like a unfinished computer testing scenes. I myself give it a 8 out of 10 in the effects department. If i was a millionaire i would get this movie finished the right way, have a new composer to rescore it and rerelease it in theaters.

  • Oh, wow, I remember this movie....it had the worst cgi I have ever seen. I couldn't believe how bad it was, I thought it was a joke.

The T-rex in this movie looked like the T-rex from Toy Story.

I was surprised that there were big actors in this movie, Ben Kingsley, wtf?! But now I hear you say some details about the production of this film, that makes sense.

The story is actually pretty cool, but I couldn't take this film seriously 'cause of the bad cgi.

  • "plants have suddenly become dangerous" -haha

i read Sound of Thunder, it was interesting, it's definitely one of the most influential short stories out there.

I general I tend not to like film based off of short stories, simply because short stories derive a lot of their strength from their briefness, and movies always feel the need to completely reform then, keeping only the most basic premise.

  • I love A Sound of Thunder!

I know it was not like the book but i liked still.

I am glad I'm not the only one who liked it.
