Mystery guest segment of the classic game show What's My Line? with jazz musician Benny Goodman. Goodman, a skilled clarinetist, was arguably the leading swing musician and bandleader in the 1930s. His career continued successfully until his death in 1986. He played both jazz and classical music and led big bands as well as small ensembles (such as his quartet and sextet). At the time of this filming, Goodman had recently returned from a US State Department sponsored tour of the Soviet Union.
Guest Buddy Hackett and regulars Bennett Cerf, Arlene Francis, and Dorothy Kilgallen appear on the panel. The program first aired on July 22, 1962.
I was too young to watch this show. But now that i'm seeing it I wish I was around to watch this show live. What great class of people.

Interestingly, Dorothy does not clap with the rest of the panelists when they congratulate Goodman for his tour of the USSR. Perhaps her well-chronicled isolationist stripes are showing?

@ameroux -- as I recall, Arlene explained that she had a eye sunburn problem caused by her work that week in summer stock.

@ameroux Having eye troubles myself, I was thinking perhaps she'd had an eye exam that day. She had injuries?
