Ford Motor Company will invest $550 million to transform its Michigan Assembly Plant into a lean, green and flexible manufacturing complex to build Ford's next-generation Focus global small car along with a new battery-electric passenger car. The investment will support 3,200 jobs. The new Focus begins production next year. The battery-electric version debuts in 2011, helping Ford meet its promise of delivering four new electric vehicles in the US by 2012.
Can't wait for the Ford Focus Electric. I live near where they are going to be assembled and can't think of a better way to support my fellow American workers and a great American car company than to purchase one of these innovative cars.

ford will survive because their union understood that they HAD to give some to get some... GM and Chrysler didn't get it, now they are a puppet of the US Govt... so long, it's been good to know ya. Ford will be big blue once again.. Toyota ?? you're next to feel the power of blue.

I am very proud of the company. Even though I was one of many to be affected by the layoffs/cut backs at Chicago Assembly, I believe in being a team player. I feel very confident about the future of the company and its product line.
