Gee Wiz. Def Leppard never went commercial since they invented commercial metal for the 80s. If it wasn't for Def Leppard, older bands wouldn't have that much major success and MIchael Jackson and Modonna would dominate the music industry.

Obviously Def Leppard were gonna turn pop, the guys in leppard were influenced by David Bowie, Sweet, Garry Glitter etc while the other NWOBHM bands were influenced by Sabbath, Priest, etc.
