The statue of Sherlock Holmes has been in Edinburgh's Picardy Place for almost 20 years. But it's had to be moved to allow the construction of the city's new tram network. The tracks will go from York Place to Leith Walk and the statue's right in the way. This was the day it was taken into "protective custody" and looked after until the work has been completed.
