Inspire others to save water and win an awesome sports camera! Make your own video clip demonstrating how much water is needed to produce any of these everyday products: coffee, chocolate, beer, a hamburger, or shoes. Find out more on http://www.imagineallthewater.eu. You will also find more details below.

Special thanks go to http://www.facebook.com/PolydorMusic for the music in the video.

Make a video (in whichever style you prefer - documentary, silent film, animation...) that represents the amount of water needed to produce seemingly common items in everyday life such as hamburgers, coffee, chocolate, beer and shoes, just like we did with our water balloons. Go to www.imagineallthewater.eu to see the water used for producing each item.
The contest opens on 10 September 2012, so start your storyboard now! Win the chance to show your film to the Generation Awake audience.
Your video will be seen by a European audience, so use images to convey your message. If using words (subtitles, slogans or messages), please do so in English. Enter as many different clips as you like, but you can only win one prize. Videos should not be longer than 2.5 minutes and no larger than 64 GB. Submit your clip(s) in the following format: MPEG-4, MPEG, VOB, WMV, 3GP, AVI, MKV, MOV, FLV.
Now get behind the camera and start filming.

The video brings the following facts to light:
Bread and beef together make one of the most popular foods ever invented -- the hamburger. They are also two products that use a lot of water in their production. Rearing cattle requires more water than any other animal while the wheat used to make bread needs water to grow.
Of course, it's fine to eat a hamburger once in a while but from time to time why not swap your hamburger for a vegetarian burger, or even a chicken burger, which requires around three times less water to produce?

This is the sort of video where you'll need to have access to the facts or to pointers to help you. Try the search term 'water' on the EU's free publication portal: bookshop.europa.eu
